Bush fruits in Garrwa county have been important food food source for thousands of years and continue to be harvested today.
Jubadirri and Ngamarraka are two of these fruits and are collected near the end of the dry season, Bush bananas are cooked over the fire before being eaten and black berries are eaten straight from the vine.
Harvesting bush foods is an important activity for Garrwa and Gudanji people, and the knowledge of where and when to find these foods is still passed from one generation to the next in the Gulf Country,
